Protective Orders - Worth exactly what they cost!

Another sad story developed Thursday with the murder of a Smithsburg woman and a police officer.  Seems the woman had a protective order against her alleged murderer.  The officer was responding to a domestic disturbance call.

Our society has become so governmentally oriented to believe that a court order is gonna protect you from someone intent on doing you harm.

According to reports, the alleged murdered had a criminal history.

So the next time some nut threatens you, figure you can get a protective court order, that, if you are lucky, will keep you safe, or you can exercise caution and be ready to defend yourself and protect your loved ones.

In this season of kindness, forgiving and love, there are still an element who does not respect life and is prone to injure, maim or kill other human beings.

As a side note, O'Governor was applauding New Jersey's decision to ban the death penalty.  O'Governor has been vocal in his opposition to Maryland's death penalty.  While most who oppose have been fortunate to have never lost a loved one.  O'Govenor's position is that life without parole is a better penalty.  On the pro-death penalty side is the irrefutable argument that anyone who is executed will never kill again.  The anti-death penalty side argues such points as convicted people later found innocent through DNA testing.  Well if DNA  is definite, shouldn't anyone found guilty with DNA evidence be eligible for execution?

Isn't it interesting that those who have police protection or are relatively isolated from the dregs of society are the same ones who would allow these cretins to continually victimize innocent citizens?

Texas Longhorns

  • Maya
Texas Longhorn Cattle. Building a great herd takes years of management, careful breeding and work. Our herd exhibits the more traditional "bicycle" shaped horns. Another quality we propagate is gentleness. A longhorn can be testy. Obviously with their equipment, a cow or bull that isn't gentle must not extend that unwanted quality to offspring. Our bulls, cows and steers are all capable of being handled with just reasonable caution. Another attribute is their hardiness and gentle birthing. Meat quality at 24 months is unsurpassed. So if you are passing by, stop and visit. The herd loves the attention (and we enjoy the company).
